About Sailor Moon
Sailor Moon is set in 1990s Tokyo. Schoolgirl Usagi Tsukino transforms into Sailor Moon and leads the Sailor Guardians against villains who want the Legendary Silver Crystal.
Naoko Takeuchi wrote and drew it for Kodansha's shōjo magazine Nakayoshi from 1991 to 1997. The chapters and side stories fill 18 volumes. The current English edition is from Kodansha Comics; Tokyopop published an earlier one.
Toei Animation's anime ran alongside the manga from 1992 to 1997, and Sailor Moon Crystal adapted it again from 2014 to 2016.
