About Kodansha USA

Kodansha USA Publishing is the New York-based American subsidiary of Kodansha. It was established on July 1, 2008, and publishes books on Japan and Japanese culture along with manga.

In 2020 Kodansha folded Kodansha Advanced Media and Vertical into the company. In March 2021 it relaunched its website and brought Kodansha Comics, Kodansha USA International and Vertical under the single Kodansha name, with Kodansha Comics renamed Kodansha Manga. Alvin Lu became president and CEO after the 2020 consolidation.
