About Nimona
Nimona is a science fantasy story by ND Stevenson. Its title character is a shape-shifter, usually a human girl, who can take any human or animal form and insists on becoming the sidekick of the disgraced knight Ballister Blackheart.
It began as a webcomic that ran from June 2012 to September 2014, and HarperCollins published it as a young adult graphic novel in May 2015. The book was nominated for the National Book Award for Young People's Literature, won a Cybils Award, and took the 2016 Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album – Reprint.
An animated film begun at Blue Sky Studios was canceled in 2021, then completed with Annapurna and released on Netflix on June 30, 2023.
